Symposium: Origin and Evolution of Life

Last week, Berend Snel and Sam von der Dunk spoke during the symposium on the origin and evolution of life!
Prof. Dr. Snel discussed the origin of the eukaryotic cell, describing the endosymbiosis model which holds that organelles such as mitochondria (which function in cellular respiration) arose from separate organisms. 🧪
Dr. Von den Dunk spoke about molecular replication and focused on RNA, one of the most important substances in (evolutionary) biology. 🧬

Special thanks to Berend and Sam!
