The holiday is coming to its end…

After having the luxury of being home (or some other place that is not uni) for TWO MONTHS, it is time to return to the routine of your student life at university. Over the summer, we had some truly warm days, raising concerns for our planet’s welfare and the effect that this has on the ecosystem. Whilst this shouldn’t be forgotten, our body actually needs sunlight to function. [Sunlight activates the production of vitamin D, which is a vital ingredient for lowering blood pressure, protecting against inflammation and improving brain function. Not to mention the benefits to mental health and sleep quality!]

Therefore, we hope everyone has had the time to de-stress, relax, sleep in and gain positive energy over the summertime and is ready to set the wheels in motion! The new SHA board is definitely rolling on all cylinders, and is ready for some changes, building on the shoulders of the old board.

The new board consists of the following members; Fieke Verhaaf, Marieke Janssen, Marnix van Soest, Rebecca de Paus, and Renée Hoffenkamp. If you ever have questions about anything or just want to chat, don’t hesitate to ask or approach us!

This can be done via a variety of platforms. We want to improve the communication within the SHA, and are trying to make it as easy for you as possible! To keep yourself updated on what’s happening and all the upcoming events, all these platforms can be used. All of you are already aware of the SHA mailing, which we wish to improve. In the upcoming year, we will start making use of Blackboard as well. However, it came to our attention that not everyone has heard of the Facebook page of the SHA (maybe because only our parents are still there). If you wish to get updates via Facebook, you can find us here. The SHA also has its own website, on which all the news and events will be posted. The last option, which will be new and maybe more of an experiment, is a Whats’app group, in which only upcoming events will be posted. If you wish to stay updated via Whats’app, that can be done here.

We all hope to see you fresh and fruity in the new college year and at the SHA events!
