Introduction and Graduation event

Introduction, graduation and a board change, a lot has happened this Monday.  The evening started with an introduction into the SHA for the new honours students. They learned about the different activities and the committees that organise them, and they got a chance to sign up for these committees.

After a break, the first ever SHA graduation ceremony was held. This ceremony was for students who finished their interdisciplinary module. First, Arjen Vredenberg and Dario Cramer gave a speech about the essence of being an (interdisciplinary) honours student. Then, the coordinators of the different disciplines held a small speech and handed each student their certificate.

After the ceremony, the final event took place: the changing of the board. President Dario and treasurer Nils gave nice words of appreciation to the old board members and to UU staff Riël Lamur and Hans Goedemans. Then, the new board made their entrance and officially received their new functions. New president Luuk thanked the old board and then announced that the reception downstairs had started.

At the reception, the new graduates had the time to celebrate their accomplishments and bring up memories of the previous years. We were honoured with the presence of the student boards of the honours academies from Eindhoven and Nijmegen. Connections have been made and we hope it will lead to future cooperations!
